"Carrying Overflowing Passion, Tasting the Resonance of Forest and Porcelain."
miyama Porcelain Cup
Utilizing the 150-year-old "Copperplate Underglaze Transfer" technique and tempered at 1350°C, the patterns blend perfectly with the white porcelain. The cup features a thin, translucent body and a delicate rim, designed to showcase the color and aroma of sake to its fullest extent.
Ohashi Lager Cypress Masu
Hailing from Ogaki City—Japan's premier production site for wooden boxes—and crafted from high-grade natural Japanese cypress (Hinoki). The handcrafted aesthetic of its clean angles and subtle woody fragrance makes it the perfect medium for conveying prayers and prosperity (Masu).
About the Masu
In Japanese drinking culture, placing a glass inside a wooden box is known as "Mokkuri" (Overflowing Sake).
Overflowing Sincerity: When pouring, the sake is allowed to overflow from the cup into the Masu. This represents the host’s passion and generosity, symbolizing the blessing of "overflowing fortune."
Flavor of the Forest: Natural cypress contains aromatic compounds. When the sake touches the Masu, it picks up an elegant woody fragrance, adding depth and a mellow finish to dry sake.
How to Drink: You may drink from the cup first, then pour the remaining sake from the Masu into the cup—or drink directly from the edge of the Masu to savor the cypress aroma.
Lifestyle Accent: Beyond drinking, this exquisite Masu can serve as a storage box for small accessories or be used during festivals to hold red beans or dried fruits.
